Video Mondaily – Lonely Seb takes on Jasper Byrne’s Lone Survivor

Posted by Seb May-Wilson

Ladies and Gentlemen, lend me your ears! And I would appreciate it if those of you whose ears have already been lent would also lend me your eyes because in my experience it's rather difficult to read something by listening to it. I mean don't get me wrong, I have tried to press my ear to my laptop before in order to listen to whatever article I was trying to read but that only works once in every ten times, and even then I don't hear everything.

It is that time of the week where we once again delve into the world of games with an awesome video in which we show off both our own awesome and the awesome of someone's game. The game in question this week is Lone Survivor, a recent Indie Survival Horror game, by Jasper Byrne. I personally delve into great depth and detail in the game to show it off to it's fullest extent (pfffffft)!

Endweek News

Posted by Seb May-Wilson

You will have, obviously noticed that last week we had no news on Sunday and that this week we actually had no news on Wednesday either. And there are very good reasons for both of these things. As you might be aware I am in the middle of my exam period and I'm finding it a little more difficult to make the time to do the news. But don't worry, after next week things ought to return to pretty much normal as both me and Tim will be finished.

And so we'll need to come up with an excuse other than "We are lazy sons-of-bitches!"

Also, we are still playing around with our new "4 posts per week" system and have decided to only have one session of news on most weeks. While you might still see some Midweek News at some point in the future, for now we are going to be doing two reviews a week, on Wednesdays and Fridays. Anyway, "reasons" over! Let's see what's been happening in the world of video games for the last two weeks.

Diablo III – First Impressions

Posted by Gary Forrow

With the open beta now finished the release date could not come sooner. For those of you that managed to get a taste of the beta you probably feel the same way, but for those that didn't get around to playing it I'm here to help. My opinion should be taken with a pinch of salt as I haven't actually played either of the previous games. With this is mind I won’t be able to make any comparisons to the previous games. Without further delay I bring to you my impressions of Diablo III.

Endweek News – Gods and Kings, Mass Effect 3 gets some delicious DLC, Assassins Creed 3 shenanigans and Relationships are Tricky…

Posted by Seb May-Wilson

I write this news post in the early hours of the morning as it was meant to be up yesterday. I do promise that I will try and be more punctual about these but the end of lectures and classes at University have put me in a holiday/lazy mood. Which when combined with my inherent laziness is difficult to overcome. However, let's crack on and do the news from the last couple of days.

What is going on in the gaming world?

Midweek News – 0 x 10^c, SimCity, Halo Stats and some Demon Hunting

Posted by Seb May-Wilson

If you noticed Tim's post yesterday you'll know that we've been making a few plans to change the way we do things here. Most of it comes down to we will be posting less often but will try and make each post count more. As part of this I won't be posting News every day now, instead I will be combining all the cool news stories of each week into two separate posts. One on Wednesdays and one on Sundays. The Midweek and the Endweek News posts. This is the first post of that layout, so let's hope it goes well! As always make sure to comment here or via Twitter or Facebook to let us know of your opinions on the change!

So, what's been in the news since Sunday? Well we've got a whole lot of interesting stuff that you can check out after the jump! We've got some stats from Bungie about Halo now that they are no longer making the games, gameplay footage of Diablo 3 featuring the Demon Hunter, some game announcements and some trailers. There's even some stuff about GAME as well!

Overhaul

Posted by Tim Mottram

Hey folks!

You may be wondering why things have been slowing down of late in regards to reviews/news and other shenanigans and I just want to inform ya'll to our plans. While we have been receiving steady viewership (thanks guys!) we are looking to overhaul the site into something more consistent and high quality. With that in mind there is going to be a lot of changes coming in over the next couple of weeks and as a result posts will be sparse. Yet have no fear! Things are on the up and we hope it will stay that way. Keep an eye on us and you won't be disappointed!

Regards,

The MMGaming Team

EDIT: We are also considering changing to a Joomla layout (from the current WordPress layout) which might result in some downtime while we mess around to get it working. If the site isn't up for any reason just assume that we are working on it and come back in a couple of hours!

Bioshock Infinite – Life amongst the clouds is troublesome

Posted by Seb May-Wilson

2K Games and Infinity Ward have spent the last month or so slowly revealing some of the tougher fights you can expect in Bioshock Infinite. Whilst admiring the view and killing the ordinary splicers (are they still splicers?) you will occasionally come across some people that will just put a crimp in your day. You know the sort, folk who just can't mind their own damn business while you try to save the world. The sort of grumpy bastards that clearly woke up on the wrong side of the bed and then proceeded to fall into a massive pile of armour and massive weapons...

And magic... Let's not forget the magic...

11 Reasons to get Prototype 2

Posted by Seb May-Wilson

If you are someone who is undecided about getting Prototype 2 then I have here a trailer which may just convince you to get it. The game comes out on the 24th of April so you still have some time to decide (even if the trailer doesn't convince you).

As someone who wasn't thinking of getting the game, I have to say... Some of the stuff in the trailer is pretty fucking cool... It's nice to see so many inventive ways to kill enemies using explosions and massive red tentacles that fire out of your arms.

Paradox reveal three new games

Posted by Seb May-Wilson

Our lovely friends at Paradox have unveiled a trio of games which they will be sending our way all of them remarkably different and interesting. The reason for the sudden revealing of three games all at once is due to the GDC (Games Developer's Conference) where gaming news and reveals abound.

Halo 4 – First Look

Posted by Seb May-Wilson

343 Industries have released the first batch of gameplay footage and information about Halo 4 the upcoming Halo series featuring the triumphant return of the Master Chief.

And guess what Halo fans! That's not all that will be returning triumphantly! No sir-ee. It would appear that, despite my approval for the DMR (the replacement for the Battle-Rifle in Halo: Reach),  343 Industries have listened to enough complaints and whinging by fans and have put the Battle-Rifle back into Halo 4. So we can expect to, once again, hear that "brakka-brakka" sound that inevitably leads to having your head peppered with a trio of bullets. Which also in turn leads to a bout of swearing and yelling "HOW THE FUCK DID HE DO THAT?!?"
