Overhaul

Hey folks! You may be wondering why things have been slowing down of late in regards to reviews/news and other shenanigans and I just want to inform ya’ll to our plans. While we have been receiving steady viewership (thanks guys!) we are looking to overhaul the site into something more consistent and high quality. With that in mind there is going to be a lot of changes coming in over the next couple of weeks and as a result posts will be sparse. Yet have no fear! Things are on the up and we hope it will stay that way. Keep an eye on us and you won’t be disappointed! Regards, The MMGaming Team   EDIT: We are also considering changing to a Joomla layout (from the current WordPress layout) which might result in some downtime while we mess around to get it working. If the site isn’t up for any reason just assume that we are working on it and come back in a couple of hours!

What Do You Want From MMGaming?

Hey readers, we love writing for you – its true. But we want to know what you’d like to see on the site! Yes we can see what people look at using the stats wordpress provides but it isn’t as effective as asking you directly. So please, if you could find the time to comment and say what you would like to see from us it would be great. Polls? More reviews? More diaries? Video reviews? More youtube stuff? Guides? Let us know! If you have more private or detailed things you would like us to take a look at please email myself at tim.mottram@mmgaming.net or our contact email contact@mmgaming.net

Discuss Skyrim

I am assuming we all have this absolutely brilliant game and have played it a good while now, so tell me.. Who are you? What level are you? What are your grand aspirations? What have you achieved?

Sword of the Stars 2: Lords of Winter Screenshots

Hey guys, Given the utter fail that was the Sword of the Stars 2 release I felt perhaps I could help motivate some gamers to hang on. So here you go, a few more Sword of the Stars 2 screens to make sure you don’t just totally give up. I wouldn’t go buying it right now, not until everything’s been fixed, but if you’ve already bought the game relax and wait it out, I think everything is going to be just fine.

Sword of the Stars 2: Release Fail

So last night was the launch of Sword of the Stars 2: Lords of Winter but in all the excitement I seemed to forget that Steam is a lazy, buggy, money grabbing heap of bollocks. Ok that’s not really fair, I mean it is, but on this particular occasion it is probably more the fault of developers at Kerboros or more likely a rushed release by Paradox Interactive. Honestly folks, I’m as information starved as everyone else so it’s hard to point fingers. “But why all the hostility CrossCrash?” I hear you ask, and let me tell you.

Stronghold 3 Release Gets the French Treatment

Well today’s the day castle nerds like me have been waiting for. The long awaited release of Firefly Studio’s Stronghold 3. But those who bought the game after the pre-load were in for a choc plutôt désagréables when they found that the game had only been supplied with French and German language options; with French being the default setting.

Brazil! Mmmm

Basking in the warm sun, surrounded by beautiful palm trees and a shimmering pool I write to you MMGamers. In Brazil, how committed am I. I will actually try and write a few articles in between the studying for my missed biotechnology, microbiology and immunology lectures. Oh and the rafting and snorkelling and generally touristy adventures. You know what though, I am here with my father and neither of us speaks a word of Portuguese. Also unfortunately nobody here speaks a word of English. Embarrassment and confusion ensues when you attempt to ask reception for your car keys and receive a towel. Enough about Brazil though. People are busy. Dogbert has just moved into his new flat, Ali is moving into his and Seb has freshers week. Sam is our newest member and will be starting his 3rd year shortly in Mechanical Engineering. In fact we will all be heading back to university in a very short space of time but I want to assure you. Assure you like those “Lawyers 4 U” assure you they won’t steal your money. MMGaming will still live on. There will have to be a few changes, alterations etcetera but here is me assuring you we will still provide a consistent quality service. On that note I would like to reach out my hand to our dedicated readers and ask. If anyone is qualified in any way at website design and is willing to put in some work for us with the goodness of their heart. Please contact us at mottrammaygaming@gmail.com

Minecraft Adventure Update News

So this news is slightly belated, but I’ll be more on the ball with minecraft stuff if possible. Yesterday some footage of Notch playing the new minecraft update at PAX gaming convention was released. As can be seen in the video, the update features a fully functioning version of the classic mode which is available to a limited extent free on the minecraft website here http://www.minecraft.net/ . Other features which have been confirmed and feature in the video are the highly anticipated new mob ‘Endermen’, a hunger system, xp and levels, improved combat and npc villages. Here’s the video below, enjoy!

Hard Reset: The Marmite of the Gaming World

Big things have been happening here at MMGaming: no longer are we a tiny site at the corner of the internet. We are now a tiny site at the corner of the internet that some developers actually know about! As such the wonderful people over at Flying Wild Hog Games (non-indie, composed of former The Witcher 2 and Bulletstorm staff just-so-ya-know) gave us the chance to preview their up and coming cyberpunk FPS game for PC: ‘Hard Reset’. So without further ado let’s take a look!

Retrospectacles: FPS Games (a.k.a. Is that a pistol in your pocket or are you just playing with a joystick?)

I’m going to take a shot in the dark here (yeah, look forward to more terrible puns) and guess that the vast majority reading this article have at some point in their lives played something out of the “Unreal Call of Halo 1942: Pacific Crysis” bandwagon. Not surprising really when the FPS genre is probably the most sure-fire (told you) profitable area of the industry right now with an endless stream of remarkably similar games trying to slice out their own little market share from the humongous money filled pie. I wonder how it was baked…
