Endweek News – Awesome Gameplay of Dishonored, Concept Art of Episode 3, some Halo 4 stuff, Meeting the Pyro and the release date of Guild Wars 2

Another week has passed, I hope that for you it was more productive than mine was. The biggest news that you can expect from me this week is that I completed Deus Ex: Human Revolution on Xbox and despite constantly saving and being more careful than a very careful thing I managed to set off a bloody alarm at SOME point during the game without noticing and thus missed out on an extra 100 achievement points for my gamer-score. Honestly, I think that has thrown me into a bad mood and I… Oh you’re here for some REAL news? I forgot that this Deus Ex stuff wasn’t important… So what is important eh? What important shiz has been happiziling?

Endweek News – Diablo patches, Updates and Release Dates and not really very much happening

It is unfortunate that I left at the most inopportune moment for a holiday… I left two weeks ago right in the middle of E3 and thus I missed out on most of what was going on AND I wasn’t able to post anything about it. I mean I also wasn’t here for last week’s news but that seems less important in comparison to learning about E3. However I am back now and I will once again dispense wisdom and knowledge to the masses every Sunday (or thereabouts) in the form of news of the world of video games! I might even summon the courage to look back a couple of weeks and sift through all the various updates and exciting things from E3 to give you our own highlights of this years expo… But that is just as possible to not happen, we will have to wait and see. It’s an interesting point as well that with the massive frenzy of news that was E3 the video game world has quietened down a little bit recently as they try and take a few deep breaths to steady themselves. I can understand really, the build-up to E3 followed by the massive out-pouring of news… Well I’m surprised there’s really any news at all already! But let’s see what’s been going on shall we?

Endweek News – Assassin’s Creed lawsuit not quite finished yet, What is this E3 thing?, a new Gears of War and some truly awesome videos!

It is that time of week where once again I delve into the grim and gritty business of video game news. It’s a cut-throat world out there, a game eat game world. A world in which only the fittest and most awesome games survive. And Call of Duty of course (OOoooh! ZING!). But seriously, it’s not really that bad (well not for everyone) and we’ve got some pretty interesting bits and pieces of news to regale you with today. Also I want to make it clear that the above video is indeed sort of relevant to this post as you shall find out later (if you read through this!) So, what’s new Gamers?

Why the Mass Effect 3 ending is absolutely bullshit!

Now hopefully you’ve already read my actual review of Mass Effect 3 (if not click here) and understand that I loved the game. Seriously, if that game were a girl I would have proposed the moment it turned up on my doorstep. Hell, despite it being a game I did almost take all my clothes off… (I managed to regain control after I got my jeans off). That said, I, unfortunately, fall into the group of people who believe that the ending of ME3 was, without a doubt, awful. Had it not been different the game would have been, pretty much, perfection. On their own though, the ending/s were quite simply horrible. No matter how cliché it is to say so, it’s true. This article will endeavour to explain just why the endings are so bad. Pretty much everything I say here has been said all around the internet, but I have to say, I came up with several of the arguments on my own before I even started to look around for other people’s opinions. Plus I want to make it clear now this article contains MANY SPOILERS! I have to talk about the ending in order to explain why it sucked…

Mass Effect 3 review – I’m Commander Sabor117 and this is the best review on the internet

I find myself in the awkward situation of having to look back at my review of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and say “Welp! Taking your title away from you!” I genuinely thought that Skyrim would remain my favourite game for a good few years before something truly epic knocked it from that coveted top spot. Unfortunately for it, after a few months of enjoying it’s position as top dog, Skyrim has had to take a back seat (for me at least) behind the game of truly epic proportions: Mass Effect 3. It is fair enough to say that it is one of the best games of all time (even if you disagree with it being “the best”) as it has been praised and accoladed by fans and critics alike.

Endweek News (unfortunately late) – Much releases and trailers, some early 0x10c screenshots, a new Borderlands character and some Bullshit Excuses

A number of you might have noticed the conspicuous absence of any Midweek News this past week. Well I fear those sharp-eyed amongst you to have spotted that will probably spot similar things again over the coming weeks due to a number of excuses that we at MMGaming have. Very good excuses actually, I’ll have you know! We can’t spend all our time playing games and talking about them… Ye gods! What the hell am I saying?!? Levity aside, it’s actually true. Nick and Josh both have commitments outside of the world of gaming which make the time they can spend on MMGaming fairly limited and me and Tim have now, once again, entered that foul time period known to all in University… Yes my friends we are once again preparing for exams and Tim at least won’t be posting AT ALL while doing so. Coincidentally we both finish on the 14th of May so you should see a return to normal around then.

Retake Mass Effect protest “Victorious”

Many of you will be aware of the massive outcry by fans about the ending of Mass Effect 3. Again, I still haven’t played the game so I won’t be looking into details about the ending (so once again NO spoilers here), but I did try to keep up with what’s been going on without exposing myself to specific details about the game. A major thing is that fans of the game have actually been joining and supporting a cause called “Retake Mass Effect 3”. The aim of the cause was to raise money simply to show Bioware the extent of the fan’s disappointment with the ending. The aim was to raise $80,000 just to prove to the developers of the game that people were disappointed and willing to take action about the ending. The money however, wouldn’t be used for campaigning and it isn’t really enough to change the whole ending to the game so it is going to be donated to the gaming charity Child’s Play.

Song of the Week – Mass Effect dubstepz

It’s that time of the week again folks. Actually, I’ve been wanting to say something about that… But first let’s get the tunes going! This week I’ve got two things to offer you! First I have some official Bioware Dubstep! Bioware stuck pieces of footage from a variety of their trailers for Mass Effect 3 and then put some rather cool wubwubwub over the top of it. Excellent! The bad news on that score is that I couldn’t find the video on Youtube, so I can only provide you with a link to that. So as a peace offering I chose one of the Mass Effect dubsteps on Youtube and have embedded that instead! Two pieces of music! You lucky thing you!

Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition

So it turns out that the teaser website Baldursgate.com was in fact teasing for an Enhanced Edition of Baldur’s Gate. The developers, Beamdog have said that this won’t just be a simple “repackaging” of the original game but that they will be adding in new and original content as well as a big update to the Infinity Engine with “a variety of modern improvements”. Not only that, but Beamdog will also be doing the same with Baldur’s gate II: Shadows of Amn.
