Witcher 3 DLC review – Blood and Stone

Allow me to spoil this review for you slightly… I mean, normally I’ll keep any major revelations until after the jump so that you have to click there and we get more delicious, delicious clicks.  But for this particular article I see absolutely no point in being coy. Given my review for the base game of the Witcher 3 I think it’s probably more than just a safe bet to say I’m going to recommend both of the major DLCs for the game, given that it’s obviously just going to be more of the same absolutely high calibre stuff. Seriously, just buy the Witcher 3 and all the DLC… ANYWAY, I guess I actually have to review this stuff though, to try and provide my reasoning behind why both DLCs for the Witcher 3 are so absolutely worth your time rather than just yelling “BUY IT” in your face until I go hoarse…

Minecraft Story Mode review – Telling tales about Telltale

So, a Telltale Game… Excellent! I get to tell you that Telltale have made another game along the formula of “a point-and-click, character-based, interactive-story with rapid decisions made during dialogue, minor puzzle-solving, and several major decisions made over the course of the game which will have supposedly far-reaching consequences within the scope of the game?” *Gasping inhale* I get to repeat all of that, tell you my few niggles about the game and then recommend it to you… Again… EXCEPT this isn’t the case. While the game does stick to the forumla, I can rather gleefully inform you that Minecraft Story Mode, is utterly fucking DREADFUL! Oooh, I’ve been looking forward to this happening!

400 Days review – Not how long it took to finish!

I loved the original Walking Dead interactive story by Telltale Games, in fact I am kept awake at night sometimes by my decision to choose Assassin’s Creed 3 over it as my runner up game of the year for 2012. So, naturally, when I heard that there was some DLC heading our way for one of my favourite games I was ALL over that shit.

Oldweek News – Seb’s Top 5 from the past

Hey everyone! THIS IS NOT THE ENDWEEK NEWS! In fact I probably shouldn’t even post this… This was a news post I started work on for the last week in February. It was going to contain an apology for not keeping up with the news, despite my promises to myself and to you guys that I would. Even with the new “Seb’s Top 5” system I haven’t been bothering to write a news article at all. This is something I need to deal with and I am currently looking into the possibility of turning it into a weekly video instead, to try and MAKE myself do it. ANYWAY. The reason I am actually posting this is because I had all of what is below here written and sorted for about two months and it just didn’t seem quite right to simply delete and throw it all away. However, it IS now two months old and so doesn’t really count as news any more. I just didn’t want what I have to go to waste and so I am posting it anyway. Hopefully it’s still entertaining enough that it might make for a good read.

Catch-Up News – Catching up from a time long since past…

I have no excuses of any real merit as to why I have not posted any News for the last two months and a half. Minus a week that I spent on Holiday without internet and the few days it took to move into my new student flat I really could have been posting Endweek News without any real issues. Seeing as it has actually been over a month since I last posted any form of News the prospect of posting EVERY piece of interesting News during that time makes me go pale with terror. I’ve posted long News posts before BUT I would very much rather avoid having to write out 10,000 words which, let’s be honest here, few people would ever struggle through (no matter how interesting the content). Instead, I did have a few tidbits I had collected with the intention of posting (but never got round to it) from in between our last post (on the 6th) and the present. Hopefully the interest level here will make up for the fact that most of them come really rather late…

Why the Mass Effect 3 Extended Ending removes the bullshit…

A while ago I wrote a pretty long rant explaining my absolute dislike and hatred of the ending of Mass Effect 3 (confirming the general public opinion of it), before I start writing here I feel obliged to inform you that this article will be very spoiler heavy as I will be walking you through the major changes and if you have yet to play through Mass Effect 3 with or without the Extended Cut ending and don’t wish to have anything ruined for you then you should avoid clicking on the “Continue Reading” button. It is fairly common knowledge amongst gamers now, even if you’ve never looked sideways at a Mass Effect game, that in the final instalment of their trilogy Bioware messed up on the ending and upset a lot of people, me among them. Bioware, in light of the public opinion quickly announced that they would be releasing a free Extended Cut for the ending which would add new dialogue and cut scenes which would explain the numerous plot holes and hopefully change the ending into something people approved of. Tim continues to believe that this was all planned out in almost a publicity stunt while I continue to hope that Bioware listened to the fans and decided to change their game to better please them… Who knows… Anyway, the Extended Cut was released at the end of June/beginning of July across all platforms and as soon as I was able to dove right back into my favourite game for my second playthrough. Due to a combination of laziness, playing other games, being ridiculously thorough (as always), and playing on the Insane difficulty I have only recently finished my second playthrough and am ready to give my opinion.

Endweek News – Colour Me Intrigued, Release Date City and Videos and Trailers

Hey everyone, it is Sunday again and as usual it is time for the News! Last week I epically failed in that I posted the news from the previous two weeks but then completely forgot to post the Colour Me Intrigued, Release Date City and Videos section. That means that actually this week  this part of the Endweek News is actually THREE WEEKS worth of stuff as opposed to just one… Yeah I know, failure at it’s finest… However, the normal Endweek News section will just be the news from the past week and I hope to have that uploaded later today as well! Anyway, enough talk! What has been intriguing and awesome in the last three weeks? Check after the jump to find out!

Portal 2, Peer Review – Review

Before we get started I want to make it absolutely clear that I am fully aware that my choice of title is both cumbersome and difficult, but you know what? I am reviewing the Portal 2 DLC called Peer Review and so I think it only fair that I state that right out. No matter how many times it may make me wish I had the imagination to come up with something better. Peer Review was the first major batch of downloadable content for Portal 2 and it was released last October, so like our Portal 2 review this review of the DLC comes at you a bit late. The content is also completely free, so honestly if you own Portal 2 it’s something of a no-brainer, but let’s go ahead and review it anyway!
