Mount and Blade: Warband retrospectacle – Okay, you come at me and I will hit you with my axe. Then you come and I will hit you…

Mount and Blade: Warband, published in 2010, is ostensibly a sequel to the original M&B by TaleWorlds Entertainment (along with Paradox). The reality is that with an only modified gameplay features, map and factions, Warband is more an expansion to the original game than a whole new game in its own right. One might wonder then why we don’t simply review M&B itself, however the answer is simple. There were two “sequels” to Mount and Blade, each rather distinct from the other: Warband and With Fire and Sword. Warband itself even had a few expansions. However, the vanilla experience of Warband, is practically unarguably the best of the entire series, garnering higher reviews than the original, which in turn actually did a good deal better than the subsequent WFAS. With a PROPER sequel to M&B in the works (Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlords) I figured it made some sense to write a review for the best of the original series so that we can establish that we too have fallen under the game’s spell.

The MMGaming Awards – 2013

This is a post which usually comes around the first week of January, however I personally decided to postpone it for a little longer because there was one game which I had yet to play but knew I would be playing relatively soon. It took a bit longer than expected to finally get around to playing said game, but it was worth it because it does factor rather massively into the running of this year’s MMGaming Game Awards. As always, people are now raising eyes and faces to the sky, hearts in mouths and stomachs where the heart used to be, ready to hear what are surely the most prestigious and most awaited awards every year. Despite the late arrival of the MMGaming Game Awards, everyone from the smallest to the biggest of devs knows that it is big and important and they were all willing to wait as long as necessary with the hopes of winning one of the awards. Anyway, it is now time to get down to business and (defeat the hun) give our opinions on some of the best and brightest of the good year 2013. Let’s get to it!

Endweek News – Seb’s Top Five

Welcome folks, welcome to the Endweek News! This is your weekly segment of SOME things gaming. I say “some” things because, frankly, I have neither the time nor the botheredness to actually post everything of gaming related interest every week and so I will be trimming off the fat and the sliiiightly less interesting stories in favour of the Top Five stories of the week! Welcome to the Endweek News – Seb’s Top Five! So I was ill over the weekend and am only just now putting the finishing touches on this and posting it… Trust me when I say other than a few little things this was ready to be posted on Sunday. Apologies for the poor start.

Endweek News – Awesome Gameplay of Dishonored, Concept Art of Episode 3, some Halo 4 stuff, Meeting the Pyro and the release date of Guild Wars 2

Another week has passed, I hope that for you it was more productive than mine was. The biggest news that you can expect from me this week is that I completed Deus Ex: Human Revolution on Xbox and despite constantly saving and being more careful than a very careful thing I managed to set off a bloody alarm at SOME point during the game without noticing and thus missed out on an extra 100 achievement points for my gamer-score. Honestly, I think that has thrown me into a bad mood and I… Oh you’re here for some REAL news? I forgot that this Deus Ex stuff wasn’t important… So what is important eh? What important shiz has been happiziling?

XBLA various titles given release dates

Microsoft have announced the release date of a number of big titles coming to the Xbox Live Arcade soon. First and foremost amongst these is the eagerly awaited Xbox version of the hit indie game Minecraft. Coming to XBLA, the Xbox version of Minecraft will cost 1600 Microsoft points and becomes available on the 9th of May this year

Thief 4 – New Details

Not much is known yet about Thief 4 only that it’s in development and that people are all very excited about it. It’s probable that there will be a large announcement and release of news about the game at E3 this year but until then people have to make do with rumours and tiny tid-bits of information. Anyway LinkedIn has apparently got a few of the interesting bits of information and they were dragged out into the light earlier today.
