The MMGaming Awards – 2016

2015 was a big year in video games. Several massive releases each of which several were genuinely incredible. Well, rather than sating us, we were only provided with a hunger, nay a NEED, for more… Unfortunately though it seems that the gaming industry’s recovery period is at least a year because 2016 was mostly, let’s face it, pretty disappointing. I guess it’s only fitting that the games of 2016 would be a bit subpar given how shitty everything else was this year. I mean seriously… This is legit a meme now… 2016 was ACTUALLY cursed? What the heck?

Endweek News (unfortunately late) – Much releases and trailers, some early 0x10c screenshots, a new Borderlands character and some Bullshit Excuses

A number of you might have noticed the conspicuous absence of any Midweek News this past week. Well I fear those sharp-eyed amongst you to have spotted that will probably spot similar things again over the coming weeks due to a number of excuses that we at MMGaming have. Very good excuses actually, I’ll have you know! We can’t spend all our time playing games and talking about them… Ye gods! What the hell am I saying?!? Levity aside, it’s actually true. Nick and Josh both have commitments outside of the world of gaming which make the time they can spend on MMGaming fairly limited and me and Tim have now, once again, entered that foul time period known to all in University… Yes my friends we are once again preparing for exams and Tim at least won’t be posting AT ALL while doing so. Coincidentally we both finish on the 14th of May so you should see a return to normal around then.

SWTOR – Free Weekends!

Bioware and EA have announced that Star Wars: The Old Republic will be having a number of “Free Weekends” in the future, with the first being from ““Thursday, March 15 at 12:01AM CT through Monday, March 19 at 2:00AM CT.” As far as I can make out this means that from TOMORROW (which is Friday, Bioware, just saying) at 6:00am until Monday at 8:00am people will be able to try out SWTOR for free.

The MMGaming Awards

A great many games have won awards over the past month as 2011 draws to a close. But now it is the moment they have surely all been waiting for. The moment for the most prestigious awards ever created in the world of video games… Yes dear friends… I am talking of The MMGaming Awards! Let us get right down to business!

Some Tunes for Christmas

As we can expect there to not be much news over Christmas I think it may get a little quiet around here at MMGaming. In order to keep up some semblance of activity though I have decided to honour the European release date of Star Wars: The Old Republic with some awesome, galactic music composed By Mark Griskey, Gordy Haab, Lennie Moore, and Wilbert Roget. The sort of music that sends shivers up your spine and covers you with goose-bumps. The sort of soundtrack that makes you feel that if you concentrate hard enough you might actually be able to use the force and a lightsaber might appear in your hand. If you just close your eyes you can almost feel it’s weight in your hand… And then, to prove that I also know what the general public likes, I’m going to post a rap cover of the same music. Huzzah!

Star Wars: The Old Republic Impressions

Brace yourselves… this is a long one! A few things first about this before you start reading this Impressions. Over the weekend beta I managed to clock maybe 5 or so hours of play time, I got to level 10, got a companion, a lightsaber and left the starting area. But in a game of the size and scale of The Old Republic this is barely scratching the surface of the content in the game. I mean, add in all the other classes, all the other worlds, the rest of the story and levels, I didn’t even spend more than 5 minutes on the Dark Side so all my experiences comes from the Light Side… Basically this means I only saw a fraction of what the game holds and Tim saw even less. Plus what I did see WAS still in beta so it was buggy and glitchy and not completely finished. As such this will not be a full review and only my impressions formed over my play time.

Silence of the MMGamers

Pic semi related… Anyway, just to let you guys know a couple of things about the next few weeks. First off, some of you are probably wondering about the radio silence from Tim on both the article and Youtube front. Don’t worry he’s not dead… he’s only pregnant…
