Dishonored Review – You bring great honour to this famiry!

I will admit to viewing the announcement of Dishonored earlier this year with some mixed feelings. Initially I saw that they had used the American, and thus INCORRECT, version of spelling Dishonoured in the title and so was a little bit dubious about the game. Then I realised that it was being published by Bethesda and I watched the absolutely awesome cinematic trailer and proceeded to start throwing money at my computer screen. The game was also developed by Arkane Studios who I remembered from playing Bioshock 2, so I figured that the game had the right companies behind it. Dishonored is a first-person, stealth-based, assassination game with you taking on the role of Corvo Attano the silent and masked protagonist. Corvo is the personal bodyguard of the Empress and her daughter but when you return to her (at the start of the game) she is almost immediately assassinated and her daughter, Emily, is kidnapped. Corvo is then framed for the murder while the real man behind it, the Spymaster, seizes power. The rest of the game then revolves around your attempts to restore Emily to the throne, defeat the new “Lord Regent” and eliminate the corruption and tyranny from the high and mighty of the city of Dunwall, where the game is set.

Tower Wars – Tower Defence/Attack (Video Impressions)

Tower Wars is Supervillain Games’ shot at making a multiplayer tower defence game, which recently seen its release on Steam for £6.99 (About $11).  Ingredients for this game: take your Tower Defence genre and add the multiplayer element, here we have the base of the game. Now add a dash of Real-Time Strategy, being careful not to add to much, finally add a very generous lump of Steam Punk style and leave to bake for 25 – 30 minutes… No but in all seriousness this is a very fresh and brand new type of game in our eyes.

Endweek News

You will have, obviously noticed that last week we had no news on Sunday and that this week we actually had no news on Wednesday either. And there are very good reasons for both of these things. As you might be aware I am in the middle of my exam period and I’m finding it a little more difficult to make the time to do the news. But don’t worry, after next week things ought to return to pretty much normal as both me and Tim will be finished. And so we’ll need to come up with an excuse other than “We are lazy sons-of-bitches!” Also, we are still playing around with our new “4 posts per week” system and have decided to only have one session of news on most weeks. While you might still see some Midweek News at some point in the future, for now we are going to be doing two reviews a week, on Wednesdays and Fridays. Anyway, “reasons” over! Let’s see what’s been happening in the world of video games for the last two weeks.

Endweek News – A writer sues Ubisoft, Halo 4 get’s a release date, Trailers for God of War and 0x10c are everywhere and Arkham City content get’s teased

Once again (due to the excuses I lined out last week) I again failed to post any Midweek News this past week. As well as that, this session of Endweek News was hastily researched and thrown together, you’ll just have to forgive me for these things as I have been rather busy. That said most of the news from this past week is actually trailers and other videos, so less reading for you guys. I will say no more on it but jump straight into the news!
