Red Orchestra Expansion: The Medal of Honour Pack

October 19, 2011 Leave a comment

Of COURSE it’s not called The Medal of Honour Pack… Don’t be daft. I was merely being clever. And it WAS clever (trust me on that) because the expansion pack for Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad, named Rising Storm, is set in the Pacific in the war between in the USA and Japan. This means it’s going to be sunnier and more “jungley” than the actual Heroes of Stalingrad.

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad otherwise known as Heroes of Stomping my face…

Well I finally got my act together and here is my long-awaited and long-outdated review of Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad. First off, just to goad Tim a little, I will say that I had perfectly good reasons for not being able to get this done sooner! Plus a diary of my slow adventures through it like I am doing with Gears of War 3 would have just been silly. Because every single mission is the same.

Blast! I meant to say something nice first! Otherwise it won’t make any sense… Okay, take a chill pill and let’s get started.

Gears of War 3: Day 5

October 16, 2011 2 comments

So we are now approaching the end of Gears of War 3. And what a slow and ponderous journey it has been. Slow and ponderous progress anyway, as we have only been managing to play our way through the game in small chunks. Anyway we’re now on the 26th Chapter overall and so have about 5 to go before what I hope will be a very satisfying and climatic finish.

Again, as we are now so far into the story I can’t really talk much about what we have been doing without some spoilers. I’ll try not mention anything particularly story related (or at least nothing that is important or is something you aren’t meant to know until the end) but I will mention some things that occur later in the game. So, like in the last diary entry, if small spoilers about unimportant events in the game don’t bother you, then read on! But if you want everything to be a surprise then you should probably try and read something else we have here!

Video Diaries… Mmm Delicious

October 13, 2011 Leave a comment

Some of you may have been keeping up with my delightful Gears of War 3 Diary (if you haven’t you can check Days 1 and 2 here, Day 3 here and Day 4 here) but perhaps for some of you reading is a chore which you would rather not do on too regular a basis.

Well fear not my friends! On our Youtube channel Tim has been hacking his way through Dead Island with his roomate Jamie and he’s been filming it for our loving public. Aren’t you lucky? You can view the videos on our channel or here after the jump! You can also check out our review of Dead Island here!

Gears Diary 4

October 12, 2011 3 comments

This one is a bit shorter than any previous diary entries as me and Ali only managed to get about an hour of play time last night. We are now on the 21st chapter of 31 and so are essentially two thirds of the way through Gears 3. I assume that if we don’t get it finished in our next session we definitely will in the session after that!

I would like to point out here that this diary DOES contain a few mild spoilers, so if you don’t want to ruin anything for yourself then don’t click the read more button. On the other hand if something only semi plot-related doesn’t bother you then read on!

Gears of War 3: Day 3

October 9, 2011 4 comments

Now I’m not quite sure what I was smoking on the second day of my Gears of War 3 diary, but it was clearly something wrong because after playing further through the game yesterday I have to say I am back on Team Gears. I still think I stand by some of what I said in the Day 2 diary entry, but a lot of it doesn’t actually bother me any more. Read more…

Gotham City Imposters Goes Animated

I have to say, the more I hear about this game the more my interest is tickled. It sounds and looks like an absolute laugh riot! The game is clearly not taking itself seriously but has such an amusing concept behind it that it might actually be great fun when it comes out. Now there is even a completely ludicrous animated trailer out which is pretty awesome and basically highlights the fact that this game is going to be fucking nuts and probably won’t involve things like “character development” or “storylines” or “characters”… Check it out after the jump!
