Gears of War 3 Diary: Final Day

October 20, 2011 1 comment

I can’t believe it… We’ve finished it… It’s all over…

Yes dear friends! Yesterday evening finally finished Gears of War 3! We were apparently closer to the end than I had previously thought because it didn’t take us much more than an hour (maybe an hour and a half) to finish off the campaign to Gears of War 3 while playing Hardcore difficulty. Again, I would like to point out right now that this article may well contain spoilers (I’m not sure what sort yet) so read on at your own peril!

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad otherwise known as Heroes of Stomping my face…

October 18, 2011 2 comments

Well I finally got my act together and here is my long-awaited and long-outdated review of Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad. First off, just to goad Tim a little, I will say that I had perfectly good reasons for not being able to get this done sooner! Plus a diary of my slow adventures through it like I am doing with Gears of War 3 would have just been silly. Because every single mission is the same.

Blast! I meant to say something nice first! Otherwise it won’t make any sense… Okay, take a chill pill and let’s get started.

Gears of War 3: Day 5

October 16, 2011 2 comments

So we are now approaching the end of Gears of War 3. And what a slow and ponderous journey it has been. Slow and ponderous progress anyway, as we have only been managing to play our way through the game in small chunks. Anyway we’re now on the 26th Chapter overall and so have about 5 to go before what I hope will be a very satisfying and climatic finish.

Again, as we are now so far into the story I can’t really talk much about what we have been doing without some spoilers. I’ll try not mention anything particularly story related (or at least nothing that is important or is something you aren’t meant to know until the end) but I will mention some things that occur later in the game. So, like in the last diary entry, if small spoilers about unimportant events in the game don’t bother you, then read on! But if you want everything to be a surprise then you should probably try and read something else we have here!

Gears Diary 4

October 12, 2011 3 comments

This one is a bit shorter than any previous diary entries as me and Ali only managed to get about an hour of play time last night. We are now on the 21st chapter of 31 and so are essentially two thirds of the way through Gears 3. I assume that if we don’t get it finished in our next session we definitely will in the session after that!

I would like to point out here that this diary DOES contain a few mild spoilers, so if you don’t want to ruin anything for yourself then don’t click the read more button. On the other hand if something only semi plot-related doesn’t bother you then read on!

Gears of War 3: Day 3

October 9, 2011 4 comments

Now I’m not quite sure what I was smoking on the second day of my Gears of War 3 diary, but it was clearly something wrong because after playing further through the game yesterday I have to say I am back on Team Gears. I still think I stand by some of what I said in the Day 2 diary entry, but a lot of it doesn’t actually bother me any more. Read more…

Gears of War 3: Days 1 and 2

September 29, 2011 2 comments

First off, I want to point out that this is a style of article that both me and Tim have been very keen to do ever since we started MMGaming. We have intended to do Diaries of our exploits in numerous games, but so far it just hasn’t happened. Well, this post sees us trying to get our diaries started! This particular diary will be my impressions as me and Ali play through Gears of War 3 on Hardcore difficulty and may continue to our second playthrough when we do Insane. This probably won’t be MMGaming’s last diary either (other’s for our list include Skyrim, Mass Effect 3 and whatever else we feel is worthy of a diary!)

Anyway, lets get started!

So yeah, this is me

Yeah, so at the moment all the posts on the Blog have been Tim. I am his partner in crime: Seb. Those of you who know us both will know that I have spent the last 13 weeks or so out of the country, spending 10 weeks in Ecuador volunteering followed by a family holiday in the USA.
