The first season of The Walking Dead by Telltale Games (and yes I am well aware of how easy it is to mix that up with the TV series given that their use of the word “season”) is easily one of my favourite games from the past few years, is possibly within my top 10 of all time and it elicited the most genuine and heart-rending sadness from me that I have not experienced before or since from any other form of media. And I was far from alone in having this reaction to the game as well. So, saying that the sequel to the game has a big act to follow could not be any truer.
Some new DLC for Dead Island will be hitting the Island on the 1st of February. Apparently featuring the main game’s original antagonist, Colonel Ryder White, it makes for an interesting idea for some DLC. Perhaps it’s a prequel of some sort… I don’t know enough about Dead Island to be able to say…
What I do know, is that there is a trailer, it’s pretty cool and the DLC will probably be full of even more awesome and gruesome bashing and slashing of zombies to bits. And disembowelling. And electrocuting. And shooting. Hell how many ways are there to actually KILL a zombie?!?
Here’s something we haven’t heard of in a while! Project Zomboid! Still in Alpha stages and still not really close to completion but still slowly shaping up to be an absolute monster of a game full of difficulty, challenges and zombies all after your delicious, delicious brains. The sheer scope of the developer’s intentions for the game is rather mind boggling and still (despite checking out it regularly) still makes me raise my eyebrows at the momentous task still ahead of them.
Capcom have announced that Resident Evil 6 will be once again infecting our consoles and gaming devices with an unstoppable zombie plague on the 20th of November this year. Another bout of shooting and zombies and still no end in sight…
The reveal trailer is pretty damn cool and you can check it out after the jump. The thing is though, games companies shouldn’t really get points for “cool” trailers any more (you know, unless it’s REALLY fucking cool!) and I want to be one of the few to put this game straight onto my “will-keep-up-to-date-but-not-really-interested” pile. And yes… I have one of those…
So with Gears of War finished Epic Games is now moving on to pastures new with a game called Fortnite. From the trailer (and the name) I’m going to assume some sort of zombie-defence-survival thing. Going only by the cartoony style of the trailer the game looks like a step away from the grim and gritty genre of Gears… Enjoy speculating!
If you are after your daily dose of awesome then look no further! For I have here a teaser trailer for an upcoming fan-film of Left 4 Dead! Directed by a bloke called Adrian Picardi, along with a group called Airsoft GI, the film is apparently coming “soon”. The teaser trailer I have for you after the jump admittedly doesn’t show all that much, but it does hint at what could well be a pretty awesome fan-film.
Okay, so yeah I told a bit of a fib in the previous post. But really this article is small enough that I almost decided to not post it. Anyway, apparently a new Resident Evil game called Operation Racoon City which is (also apparently) a new take on the events of Resident Evil 2 and 3 is due to have a beta released early next year.
I’ve never really been into the Resident Evil games, but I figure I’ll try and keep this on my radar anyway. Check the trailer after the jump.
