Endweek News
You will have, obviously noticed that last week we had no news on Sunday and that this week we actually had no news on Wednesday either. And there are very good reasons for both of these things. As you might be aware I am in the middle of my exam period and I'm finding it a little more difficult to make the time to do the news. But don't worry, after next week things ought to return to pretty much normal as both me and Tim will be finished.
And so we'll need to come up with an excuse other than "We are lazy sons-of-bitches!"
Also, we are still playing around with our new "4 posts per week" system and have decided to only have one session of news on most weeks. While you might still see some Midweek News at some point in the future, for now we are going to be doing two reviews a week, on Wednesdays and Fridays. Anyway, "reasons" over! Let's see what's been happening in the world of video games for the last two weeks.
Midweek News – Guild Wars swapping Realms, Some DLC, Some Trailers and our Song of the Week!
Interesting news seem to be a little slow lately so I have decided (seeing as I missed last Sunday) to include MMGaming's Song of the Week in this news post. Why news has been slow I can't really say but I'm going to assume it's to do with either me not picking up on interesting stuff or that there is a sort of lull in news now that PAX East is over. Guess we just need to wait to see if it picks up again.
Midweek News – 0 x 10^c, SimCity, Halo Stats and some Demon Hunting
If you noticed Tim's post yesterday you'll know that we've been making a few plans to change the way we do things here. Most of it comes down to we will be posting less often but will try and make each post count more. As part of this I won't be posting News every day now, instead I will be combining all the cool news stories of each week into two separate posts. One on Wednesdays and one on Sundays. The Midweek and the Endweek News posts. This is the first post of that layout, so let's hope it goes well! As always make sure to comment here or via Twitter or Facebook to let us know of your opinions on the change!
So, what's been in the news since Sunday? Well we've got a whole lot of interesting stuff that you can check out after the jump! We've got some stats from Bungie about Halo now that they are no longer making the games, gameplay footage of Diablo 3 featuring the Demon Hunter, some game announcements and some trailers. There's even some stuff about GAME as well!
Assassin’s Creed 3 – Console FTW
I don't know how many of you agree with me, but for me Assassin's Creed has always been a game designed for consoles. I've had every previous instalment on the Xbox 360 and I intend to get number 3 on the 360. While this may not interest you, what should is that apparently the team at Ubisoft agree with me!
Well, I say that... What they actually said was that they "love PC" but they won't be spending much time on optimising the game for keyboard and mouse. So if you insist on buying the PC version you may also have to invest in a controller which will plug into the PC.
Unlucky, mouse fans!
Indie Games – Release date city
A few different Indie Games have been given release dates in the very near future, so if any of the following games are oens you are looking forward to then you can mark down some dates in your diary:
Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet (just confirmation that the PC version will be released, with the Xbox version out since August last year).
Shoot Many Robots (another PC version release with the XBLA and PSN versions having been released earlier this month).
Legend of Grimrock (an "old-school dungeon crawler" which we are rather interested in).
THQ’s Warhammer 40K: Dark Millenium is No Longer an MMO
As the title suggests, THQ have decided to change the focus of Dark Millenium Online from MMO to an ""immersive single player and online multiplayer experience". So while there will still be multiplayer elements to the game it seems that more of the game will focus on the singleplayer side of it.
This is, however, a step up from earlier this year when there were rumours of THQ going bankrupt and of the game being cancelled completely.
