Five Nights at Freddy’s and Mini Metro – Some Ideas for Your Little Minutes

So you’re busy, you’ve got about an hour before you have to deal with some stuff in the real world. That world into which we rarely venture. I understand that some people, for bizarre reasons, don’t have the time to sit down and play six straight hours of Skyrim or Mass Effect 3 and so while I do not understand I suppose I should take pity on them and offer them some solace. Thus here comes the next article in our series of Some Ideas for Your Little Minutes. These articles will be of games (or perhaps betas of games) that we can’t rightfully give full reviews, because we don’t classify them as full games. But importantly these games will not be something you need to sit down and focus on for hours on end!

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs review – What does the pig say?

This is the part where I usually give credit to the developers of Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs and I had always planned to say “developed by Frictional Games in concert with The Chinese Room”. But you know what, I no longer know what I do and do not know any more considering that Wikipedia (the source of all knowledge, I’m sure you’ll agree) informs me that the sequel to the critically acclaimed and utterly horrifying Amnesia: The Dark Descent was developed by The Chinese Room and merely published by Frictional Games. Normally I’d assume I’m right, but disagreeing with Wikipedia seems to border on blasphemy so I’ll leave it up to you to figure out what the score is.

Endweek News – Diablo patches, Updates and Release Dates and not really very much happening

It is unfortunate that I left at the most inopportune moment for a holiday… I left two weeks ago right in the middle of E3 and thus I missed out on most of what was going on AND I wasn’t able to post anything about it. I mean I also wasn’t here for last week’s news but that seems less important in comparison to learning about E3. However I am back now and I will once again dispense wisdom and knowledge to the masses every Sunday (or thereabouts) in the form of news of the world of video games! I might even summon the courage to look back a couple of weeks and sift through all the various updates and exciting things from E3 to give you our own highlights of this years expo… But that is just as possible to not happen, we will have to wait and see. It’s an interesting point as well that with the massive frenzy of news that was E3 the video game world has quietened down a little bit recently as they try and take a few deep breaths to steady themselves. I can understand really, the build-up to E3 followed by the massive out-pouring of news… Well I’m surprised there’s really any news at all already! But let’s see what’s been going on shall we?

The Humble Bundle 5, Limbo!

The video is now up! Watch it at the bottom of this post! Well then, the Humble Indie Bundle has been and gone yet again… What has it blessed us with this time around? Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Limbo, Psychonauts and Superbrother: Sword & Sworcery EP. I was mainly relying on the video I had made to do the majority of the talking with the short piece of gameplay and chat at the beginning. For those that dont like videos, ill try my best to sum it up into words. Don’t expect the works of Shakespear.

Overhaul

Hey folks! You may be wondering why things have been slowing down of late in regards to reviews/news and other shenanigans and I just want to inform ya’ll to our plans. While we have been receiving steady viewership (thanks guys!) we are looking to overhaul the site into something more consistent and high quality. With that in mind there is going to be a lot of changes coming in over the next couple of weeks and as a result posts will be sparse. Yet have no fear! Things are on the up and we hope it will stay that way. Keep an eye on us and you won’t be disappointed! Regards, The MMGaming Team   EDIT: We are also considering changing to a Joomla layout (from the current WordPress layout) which might result in some downtime while we mess around to get it working. If the site isn’t up for any reason just assume that we are working on it and come back in a couple of hours!

What Do You Want From MMGaming?

Hey readers, we love writing for you – its true. But we want to know what you’d like to see on the site! Yes we can see what people look at using the stats wordpress provides but it isn’t as effective as asking you directly. So please, if you could find the time to comment and say what you would like to see from us it would be great. Polls? More reviews? More diaries? Video reviews? More youtube stuff? Guides? Let us know! If you have more private or detailed things you would like us to take a look at please email myself at tim.mottram@mmgaming.net or our contact email contact@mmgaming.net

Dungeon Defenders Review

I fear that I will be a disappointment to you guys here because I fear that this will not be a “proper” MMGaming review. In every MMGaming review so far we’ve always made sure to point out every niggardly detail that bothered us, even if it was that we didn’t like the colour of the main character’s cloak or whatever. We take the best games and always, ALWAYS make sure to poke a hole somewhere. However, no matter how hard I tried, I genuinely could NOT think up anything that I disliked about Dungeon Defenders.

Video Diaries… Mmm Delicious

Some of you may have been keeping up with my delightful Gears of War 3 Diary (if you haven’t you can check Days 1 and 2 here, Day 3 here and Day 4 here) but perhaps for some of you reading is a chore which you would rather not do on too regular a basis. Well fear not my friends! On our Youtube channel Tim has been hacking his way through Dead Island with his roomate Jamie and he’s been filming it for our loving public. Aren’t you lucky? You can view the videos on our channel or here after the jump! You can also check out our review of Dead Island here!

Gatling Gears Review

Gatling Gears is a simple third person shooter game. You take the role as Max, an ex-pilot for the Empire. Now when I say pilot I don’t mean planes, you drive a walker. One similar to an AT-ST walker in Star Wars. Yes, you get to control the walker and you have some weapons on board to shoot the bad guys. You have a Gatling gun (left mouse button), cannons (right mouse button), grenades (space bar) and a shock bomb (shift button) which can only be used once every level.

Toy Soldiers: Cold War Review

I will admit, I was not entirely unbiased towards this game to start with. During some previous perusing of the X-Box Live Arcade I had stumbled upon the original Toy Soldiers and had thought “what the hell, it can’t hurt, I’ll give it a go”. Well I can tell you right now, I almost wish it had hurt. At least then the pain would have distracted me from the boredom with which I was rewarded. So I am ashamed to say, I quit the game and give it no further thought. So it was with slight sceptisism that I agreed to give the Cold War code a try…
