If you’ve read the start of my recent Retrospectacle on World of Warcraft then you might understand that both Tim and I were big time fans of Blizzard’s MMO. We loved that game and everything about it and both of us, at one point or another, reached the end-game raiding content (even getting quite far at times). Both of us also quit for similar reasons, and none of those reasons were that we were fed up of the game. The simple fact was that it devoured our life, free time and money (money which we could not spare at Uni) and so we quit (him a good two years before me). Continue reading
The world awaits with bated breath as we at MMGaming have been considering the various awards we would like to hand out at this years MGA (MMGaming Gaming Awards): the more prestigious version of the VGA. All across the globe the big game companies are staring at their browsers, just waiting to see if their game will be forever immortalized in our hearts and minds.
Joking aside though, it is indeed time for us to look back at 2012 and consider what the highlights, and possible low-lights (if that is indeed a word), of the year were! Now while we do put a fair amount of thought into the various awards (even those we include only as a way of amusing both you and ourselves) when it comes to the bigger and more serious things the MMGamers have an unfortunate tendency to not agree on who ought to be winning. That’s why that in the following, very prestigious, very formal and serious award ceremony (done via a post on the internet) some of the awards might have input from more than one of us, explaining why THIS particular game should win THIS particular award. Naturally you should be listening to me here and not the others, of course…
Anyway, without any further ado I hereby welcome you to the MMGaming Game Awards!
It’s that time of week again folks when we huddle around the glow of our computer monitors, soaking up the warm and delicious electronic goodness. It could be raining or sunny outside, it could be the middle of the night or the middle of the day but we neither know nor care because we have video games news to distract ourselves with. And it’s a rather large batch of it as well! We’ve got some beta sign ups for you to explore, some updates, some new games and some lawsuits. As usual in the gaming world it’s always awesome and always worth paying attention to.
Or at least the stuff I’m about to show you is… Also, in previous Endweek Newses I have been giving you the news in a bit of a haphazard order with no real structure to it. From hence forth the oldest stories will be at the top of the post with the most recent at the bottom. Also, remember to check out the separate news post where I talk about intriguing new games, release dates and shove a bunch of awesome videos in your face. Enjoy!
Another week has passed, I hope that for you it was more productive than mine was. The biggest news that you can expect from me this week is that I completed Deus Ex: Human Revolution on Xbox and despite constantly saving and being more careful than a very careful thing I managed to set off a bloody alarm at SOME point during the game without noticing and thus missed out on an extra 100 achievement points for my gamer-score. Honestly, I think that has thrown me into a bad mood and I… Oh you’re here for some REAL news? I forgot that this Deus Ex stuff wasn’t important…
So what is important eh? What important shiz has been happiziling?
It is that time of week where once again I delve into the grim and gritty business of video game news. It’s a cut-throat world out there, a game eat game world. A world in which only the fittest and most awesome games survive. And Call of Duty of course (OOoooh! ZING!). But seriously, it’s not really that bad (well not for everyone) and we’ve got some pretty interesting bits and pieces of news to regale you with today. Also I want to make it clear that the above video is indeed sort of relevant to this post as you shall find out later (if you read through this!)
So, what’s new Gamers?
Interesting news seem to be a little slow lately so I have decided (seeing as I missed last Sunday) to include MMGaming’s Song of the Week in this news post. Why news has been slow I can’t really say but I’m going to assume it’s to do with either me not picking up on interesting stuff or that there is a sort of lull in news now that PAX East is over. Guess we just need to wait to see if it picks up again.
Once again (due to the excuses I lined out last week) I again failed to post any Midweek News this past week. As well as that, this session of Endweek News was hastily researched and thrown together, you’ll just have to forgive me for these things as I have been rather busy. That said most of the news from this past week is actually trailers and other videos, so less reading for you guys. I will say no more on it but jump straight into the news!
