Interesting news seem to be a little slow lately so I have decided (seeing as I missed last Sunday) to include MMGaming’s Song of the Week in this news post. Why news has been slow I can’t really say but I’m going to assume it’s to do with either me not picking up on interesting stuff or that there is a sort of lull in news now that PAX East is over. Guess we just need to wait to see if it picks up again.
Guild Wars 2 – Realm and World Transfers
Once a week in Guild Wars 2 you will be allowed to change your character’s World Server or Realm inside the server. With a price of 1800 gems (the in-game equivalent of Microsoft Points or Riot Points – explained here) you can transfer your account to a different realm or server and with that transfer all of the characters linked the account also move over.
Transferring results in you being logged out for a short period of time before you can log back in and resume play on your new realm. And it is worth noting here that players from Europe can indeed play on the US server and vice versa.
As well as transferring there is a “Guest” system where you can play as a guest on a different realm or server, but doing so results in some restrictions on your character, the inability to take place in world versus world battles for example.
A full list of all the realms can be found here.
Binding of Issac DLC – Wrath of the Lamb
The successful and popular indie game the Binding of Issac is getting a rather hefty chunk of DLC some time in May. The DLC will supposedly add 50% more content to the game and creator Edmund McMillan has said that he worked on it longer than the actual game itself.
Entitled Wrath of the Lamb and costing whatever your local equivalent of $3 the DLC will contain:
- 10+ bosses
- 100+ new items
- 20+ enemies
- 4 chapters
- 1 character
- 6 rooms
- 40+ unlocks
- 4+ tracks
- 1 “final” ending
- 7+ “random happenings”
- 5 ultra rare pick-ups
- 5 new cards
- 4 new pills
- 10 new challenges
- A “buttload” of new achievements
Sounds good.
Harley Quinn DLC – Release Dates
Rocksteady have finally given us some word on the various release dates for the Harley Quinn DLC which all Arkham City fans are looking forward to (or at least those who deserve to call themselves fans are looking forward to it). Amusingly the DLC has been attached to the Game of the Year Edition of Batman: Arkham City which will release on PC, this is amusing because the release date for this Game of the Year Edition for PC is still “TBC” so a fair bit of time to wait then I would imagine.
As for consoles, the DLC will release in North America on the 29th of May followed by a release date everywhere else on…
Oh…
September 7th… Now I know that us people outside of the US aren’t really people and are all communists but I swear… Us Communists were really looking forward to that DLC, why will it take so long?
Trailers
Today I provide you with two trailers! First off, a lovely little trailer which is the debut of Reset by Theory Interactive. A first person puzzle game with a strong focus on atmosphere. Supposedly the game mechanic will involve you travelling back in time to solve puzzles co-operatively, WITH yourself… Awesome!
Following the intelligent I have also posted the awesome! It’s a gameplay trailer for Crysis 3! Rock n’ roll!
Song of the Week
This week’s Song of the Week actually sees the return of another artist who we’ve enjoyed music from before! It’s Harry101UK with another Portal 2 parody, this time based on one of Beyonce’s songs!
