The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief [Chapter 2] review – I have the eyes of a Hawk!

Chapter 1 of The Raven was quite the surprise, released late July by The Adventure Company. A point and click, story-driven, mystery game in which you are poking around various lovingly designed locations in order to try and figure out the identity of the master thief The Raven. There were puzzles, great characters and dialogue […]

The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief review [Chapter 1] – I’m Tintin!

It amuses me sometimes how the big video game publishers pander to the video gamer. All male protagonists are hugely built American (the only good guys on the planet) space marines (Japanese games need not apply here) with voices more gravelly than the driveway outside Buckingham Palace and all female side-kicks have been doing one […]

Element4l review – Rock solid with a burning desire

Created by I-Illusions, Element4l is a recently released “experimental” platformer with a heavy focus on flowing, fast and incredibly challenging gameplay. As I have mentioned before platformers are a fairly difficult genre to review because there are just so damned many of them that it seems ridiculously difficult to provide anything fresh or exciting to […]

Anomaly 2 review – Not quite as unknown as you might think

Written and reviewed by Michael Burke. Coming to the franchise, and the genre, for the first time I initially had nothing with which to compare Anomaly 2, but I can say that it is without a doubt an enjoyable game.

400 Days review – Not how long it took to finish!

I loved the original Walking Dead interactive story by Telltale Games, in fact I am kept awake at night sometimes by my decision to choose Assassin’s Creed 3 over it as my runner up game of the year for 2012. So, naturally, when I heard that there was some DLC heading our way for one […]

Neptune’s Pride 2: Triton review – Backstabbing better than Assassin’s Creed

Having played a game in the original Neptune’s Pride and now having played through a number of Neptune’s Pride 2: Triton (a name I approve of as it is one of the moons of Neptune) games I think I am in a reasonably educated and sensible position to produce a review on the new and […]

Crusader Kings 2 review – I’m afraid I can’t let you do that Your Majesty…

Crusader Kings 2 by those lovely chaps at Paradox Interactive has been out for well over a year now and already has several packs of DLC available for purchase. It is a game in which you take control of a specific Dynasty in the Medieval World and you must get your heirs, your descendants […]

Reus review – I am the god of BUSHES and TINY FLUFFY ANIMALS!

Reus by Abbey Games is an indie god game where you play the part of four giants who morph a lifeless and barren planet with seas, swamps, forests and mountains in order to bring life to your world. It’s a game which could possibly be pronounced “R-oos” (as in the Greek god Zeus), but I […]

Impire review – That’s the evillest thing I could come up with given 10 minutes notice

Impire by Paradox Productions and Cyanide Montreal is a relatively new RTS game in which you play the part of one Baal Abaddon (or however it’s spelt), an evil and powerful demon summoned into the mortal realm on a mission of world domination. It has a feel reminiscent of the old Overlord games in […]

Hitman Absolution review – If you were a real Assassin you’d SUCK!

Hitman is a game with what I believe is a great pedigree. The most recent game before Absolution, Blood Money, was praised and lauded by just about everyone so with that sort of background Absolution has both a lot to live up to and a lot of fans to please. Made by IO Interactive you play as […]
