Everybody likes lists which break down extremely complex questions and information into easily digestible and arbitrary chunks. And we’ve sort of been inspired by the PC Gamer Top 100 games list to make our own list of the Best Video Games Ever. Continue reading
The world awaits with bated breath as we at MMGaming have been considering the various awards we would like to hand out at this years MGA (MMGaming Gaming Awards): the more prestigious version of the VGA. All across the globe the big game companies are staring at their browsers, just waiting to see if their game will be forever immortalized in our hearts and minds.
Joking aside though, it is indeed time for us to look back at 2012 and consider what the highlights, and possible low-lights (if that is indeed a word), of the year were! Now while we do put a fair amount of thought into the various awards (even those we include only as a way of amusing both you and ourselves) when it comes to the bigger and more serious things the MMGamers have an unfortunate tendency to not agree on who ought to be winning. That’s why that in the following, very prestigious, very formal and serious award ceremony (done via a post on the internet) some of the awards might have input from more than one of us, explaining why THIS particular game should win THIS particular award. Naturally you should be listening to me here and not the others, of course…
Anyway, without any further ado I hereby welcome you to the MMGaming Game Awards!
Once again we come, LATE, with news of the world (for which there is actually a good reason for once). And not the unimportant news of the world such as droughts and wars and other things of that nature. No here we deal in the important and the serious. For here my friends we talk about the news of the world of Games. A cut-throat world. A game eat game world. In fact, it’s much like the real world only there is about 100 times the possibility for awesome and guns with chainsaws attached to them…
ENOUGH TALK! What happened in the virtual world last week?
Release Date city
There are two pretty big release dates to inform all you folks about and both are for March next year.
First up is Gears of War Judgement, the next Gears game which will be a prequel for the whole series and will follow Damon Baird and his own crew of four and has been set for a 19th of March release date by Epic Games.
The other big release was revealed on the Amazon UK website which states that Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be coming to the UK on the 29th of March next year.
You’d think that with only one news post per week I’d be able to keep on schedule and keep you lovely people supplied with lots of interesting news about awesome games! Unfortunately it seems that the words “epic fail” are rather appropriate here because, once again, last week I missed the Endweek News deadline and had to shift the information I had gathered into this week!
Anyway! Enough remorse and sorrow! The news is important and I shall supply it to you post-haste! This week I’m also trying out a little bit of a different news system in that I will be making TWO posts! Now if you want you can check either one or the other of my news posts, but know that they contain different things. This news post is all about individual news articles. New games, new stuff, updates and DLC, it’s all the big pieces of news about individual games. The other news post (to follow shortly) will contain release dates, all the videos and the “Colour me Intrigued” bit where I will be talking about a number of games which have piqued my interest recently.
So… Shall we get started!
Okay so having missed two Endweek Newses in a row probably tells you that this post is going to be a long one (even if the title doesn’t). So allow me to say that right now no one is more irritated than me at my sloppy handling of the news recently, this one is both three weeks late and I even managed to miss posting it yesterday. Not very professional… However I am pleased to follow that up by saying: “Thank you everyone! You’ve been very patient but we should now, at long last, be able to return to standard operating procedure now!” That’s right folks, the shroud of exams is now finally passed and me and Tim are free to return to active service! The alcohol has been flowing and everything is once more right with the world! As of now we should be able to return to the excellent and not at all lazy standard of service with which you should be accustomed to from MMGaming!
So what has been going on in the world of video games recently? (By the way it’s worth noting that this particular news post does cover news from all the past three weeks so is REALLY long)
A number of you might have noticed the conspicuous absence of any Midweek News this past week. Well I fear those sharp-eyed amongst you to have spotted that will probably spot similar things again over the coming weeks due to a number of excuses that we at MMGaming have. Very good excuses actually, I’ll have you know! We can’t spend all our time playing games and talking about them…
Ye gods! What the hell am I saying?!?
Levity aside, it’s actually true. Nick and Josh both have commitments outside of the world of gaming which make the time they can spend on MMGaming fairly limited and me and Tim have now, once again, entered that foul time period known to all in University… Yes my friends we are once again preparing for exams and Tim at least won’t be posting AT ALL while doing so. Coincidentally we both finish on the 14th of May so you should see a return to normal around then.
