Endweek News

You will have, obviously noticed that last week we had no news on Sunday and that this week we actually had no news on Wednesday either. And there are very good reasons for both of these things. As you might be aware I am in the middle of my exam period and I’m finding it a little more difficult to make the time to do the news. But don’t worry, after next week things ought to return to pretty much normal as both me and Tim will be finished.

And so we’ll need to come up with an excuse other than “We are lazy sons-of-bitches!”

Also, we are still playing around with our new “4 posts per week” system and have decided to only have one session of news on most weeks. While you might still see some Midweek News at some point in the future, for now we are going to be doing two reviews a week, on Wednesdays and Fridays. Anyway, “reasons” over! Let’s see what’s been happening in the world of video games for the last two weeks. Continue reading

Video Mondaily – Let’s Play the Diablo 3 beta with ThatForrow

Why, ’tis Monday dear friends and as we all know that means that it is time for another bout of MMGaming related tomfoolery in whatever game we can find. This week’s videos feature this weekend’s open beta of Diablo 3 and the welcome return of ThatForrow. Actually, this allows (cunningly) me to welcome Gary aboard the MMGaming team, with college nearly done he has decided to try his hand at writing for us, so we shall see how that goes as well!

Endweek News – A writer sues Ubisoft, Halo 4 get’s a release date, Trailers for God of War and 0x10c are everywhere and Arkham City content get’s teased

Once again (due to the excuses I lined out last week) I again failed to post any Midweek News this past week. As well as that, this session of Endweek News was hastily researched and thrown together, you’ll just have to forgive me for these things as I have been rather busy. That said most of the news from this past week is actually trailers and other videos, so less reading for you guys. I will say no more on it but jump straight into the news!

Endweek News – Gods and Kings, Mass Effect 3 gets some delicious DLC, Assassins Creed 3 shenanigans and Relationships are Tricky…

I write this news post in the early hours of the morning as it was meant to be up yesterday. I do promise that I will try and be more punctual about these but the end of lectures and classes at University have put me in a holiday/lazy mood. Which when combined with my inherent laziness is difficult to overcome. However, let’s crack on and do the news from the last couple of days.

What is going on in the gaming world?

Midweek News – 0 x 10^c, SimCity, Halo Stats and some Demon Hunting

If you noticed Tim’s post yesterday you’ll know that we’ve been making a few plans to change the way we do things here. Most of it comes down to we will be posting less often but will try and make each post count more. As part of this I won’t be posting News every day now, instead I will be combining all the cool news stories of each week into two separate posts. One on Wednesdays and one on Sundays. The Midweek and the Endweek News posts. This is the first post of that layout, so let’s hope it goes well! As always make sure to comment here or via Twitter or Facebook to let us know of your opinions on the change!

So, what’s been in the news since Sunday? Well we’ve got a whole lot of interesting stuff that you can check out after the jump! We’ve got some stats from Bungie about Halo now that they are no longer making the games, gameplay footage of Diablo 3 featuring the Demon Hunter, some game announcements and some trailers. There’s even some stuff about GAME as well!

Diablo 3 to launch with no PvP

Lead designer of upcoming Diablo 3, Jay Wilson, has officially announced, with the full might of Blizzard behind him that Diablo 3 will be releasing without it’s Player versus Player mode.

He said that essentially it was not working to the standards that they had set themselves and that delaying the game purely for the PvP would ruin the release for an awful lot of people (like me) who are looking forward to the co-op and single-player campaigns. I imagine that all is not lost and that PvP will be released as (hopefully free) DLC at some point in the near future after the games release.

But yeah, it would seem that with everything else “just about complete” the PvP was not yet quite up to the same standard as the rest of the game and-

Hang on…

Diablo 3 also on Consoles

Just a quick news post to mention that the upcoming top down RPG by Blizzard, Diablo 3 will also be coming out on consoles when it released this year! Blizzard has said it will be coming out early 2012 so we won’t have to wait much longer.

I will say though, I think I would prefer this particular game on the PC. I’m not sure why, I just think that’s what I’d prefer. Go figure…
