The Gaming BAFTA’s Awards

This past Friday GAME held the British Academy Video Games Awards for 2011 and I was watching the second half as it streamed live online. In case you missed it there was a rather cringeable moment when Jonathan Ross came on absolutely drunk as anything! I’ve also decided that, in case you missed it (and you can’t really be bothered going through the list of awards over at the official website), that I would help you folks out and post all the awards and various winners here on MMGaming.

While naturally not as prestigious as the MMGaming Awards, I imagine that some of these were rather sought after by Game companies so it makes for good food for though, if nothing else.

I will post the name of the award, the nominees and the winner of the award. I might also have a wee rant if I decide that the choice they made is something I disagree with. Although, I will try and keep that to a minimum because Tim usually gets on my case when I do stuff like that… Continue reading

Mass Effect 3 – Disappointments abound

I am not in a good mood folks. First of all, last night my hopes of a new exciting console release were crushed and just today when scanning the interwebs for other pieces of gaming news for you guys I came across the following title “Mass Effect 3 Ending Furore” on Eurogamer.

I’ve said this before, but when it comes to games I love (and I mean love, not just like) such as Mass Effect, The Elder Scrolls and a few others. I try to avoid looking at anything actually game related myself in case it spoils something for me. And now I know that an awful lot of fans are apparently very disappointed with the ending for Mass Effect 3.

Batman: Arkham City Review (at last)

Well I’ve decided that it’s time that we finally get an actual review of Batman: Arkham City out there. Now if you have read our Discussion on the game then I just want to warn you that I might well be repeating some of the points me and the guys made. If you haven’t then I recommend you read both ANYWAY!

The sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City (by Rocksteady) is a third-person, over-the-shoulder game where you play as the Batman. Set in a whole section of Gotham City that has been turned into a massive prison by one Hugo Strange, Batman gets sucked into this prison city and finds it full of plotting and intrigue that he has to solve.

MMGaming Discusses: Batman Arkham City

Hello everyone and welcome to our second MMGaming discussion of a game. This time the featured game is Batman: Arkham City (at last) and the MMGamers who will be talking about it are: Tim, Ali and Me!

Just as a note before it begins, this is an article that will be posted AS WELL AS an actual review (coming soon to a browser near you). For the official MMGaming rating you will have to wait for the review, but the discussion does cover most of what we want to say about it. Enjoy!

Minecraft Adventure: Discuss

So everyone knows that i am not a massive minecraft fanboy like the rest of the authors on this site but i am actually going to try the adventure update. Infact i am in the process of downloading it right now – So tell me, is it any good?

UPDATE: Where the hell are these bloody NPCS, i’v been travelling for 20 minutes looking for them!

UPDATE: Well this update for me has been a massive disappointment. The advertising made it seem like this was a massive leap forward for minecraft into making it more of an RPG but it just hasn’t went the distance. I appreciate this is the start of something big but the publicity around this update made it seem something it wasn’t. When they fully implement the features maybe i will be a bit happier but claiming you have made a revolutionary patch and it just ends up being hollow is certainly dissapointing.
