State of the MMGaming Awards – Year Review *clap clap*

Welcome all to this year’s “MMGaming Awards” post. Although in reality the post this year is going to be rather different than our previous awards posts. For starters, beyond naming our Game of the Year (and maybe having a rant about the games industry) I won’t really be writing out any other awards. Instead, this year this post will function as something of a “State of MMGaming Address” where I will briefly go over where things stand on our site and lives in general. So, rather unfortunately, many game developers will be going home award-less tonight…

Anyway, let’s just JUMP into it! *clap clap*

Endweek News – Diablo patches, Updates and Release Dates and not really very much happening

It is unfortunate that I left at the most inopportune moment for a holiday… I left two weeks ago right in the middle of E3 and thus I missed out on most of what was going on AND I wasn’t able to post anything about it. I mean I also wasn’t here for last week’s news but that seems less important in comparison to learning about E3. However I am back now and I will once again dispense wisdom and knowledge to the masses every Sunday (or thereabouts) in the form of news of the world of video games! I might even summon the courage to look back a couple of weeks and sift through all the various updates and exciting things from E3 to give you our own highlights of this years expo… But that is just as possible to not happen, we will have to wait and see.

It’s an interesting point as well that with the massive frenzy of news that was E3 the video game world has quietened down a little bit recently as they try and take a few deep breaths to steady themselves. I can understand really, the build-up to E3 followed by the massive out-pouring of news… Well I’m surprised there’s really any news at all already! But let’s see what’s been going on shall we?

Endweek News – Assassin’s Creed lawsuit not quite finished yet, What is this E3 thing?, a new Gears of War and some truly awesome videos!

It is that time of week where once again I delve into the grim and gritty business of video game news. It’s a cut-throat world out there, a game eat game world. A world in which only the fittest and most awesome games survive. And Call of Duty of course (OOoooh! ZING!). But seriously, it’s not really that bad (well not for everyone) and we’ve got some pretty interesting bits and pieces of news to regale you with today. Also I want to make it clear that the above video is indeed sort of relevant to this post as you shall find out later (if you read through this!)

So, what’s new Gamers?

Skyrim Update 1.5

The beta version for the most recent update for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is available right now on steam with the full version coming out fairly soon. It will be coming out to PC’s first followed shortly after by the update coming to consoles (as per usual). It’s rather depressing in that every time I look for gaming news I see stuff about Skyrim and Mass Effect 3, especially as I can play neither right now.

The major new thing coming in update 1.5 is new special melee kills, and kill cams for ranged and magic attacks. As well as that there is the usual plethora of bug fixes and patches. For the full list check after the jump.

Minecraft 1.2

I’m a little off the ball posting about this update as it actually came out late last week. You surely all know the deal by now: new features and improvements of old ones.

This particular expansion seems to be particularly based around adorableness and babies as now you can get Ocelots which can have kittens. Pet wolves can now have puppies. And villager NPCs can now also have children. It seems like the pitter-patter of tiny feet is going to soon be filling our various Minecraft worlds.
