This week see’s two bout of DLC coming out, for those of us interested. Later on this week will see us being able to play as the overpowered Locust general RAAM in the Gears of War 3 (by Epic Games) DLC “RAAM’s Shadow”. Set before the events of Gears One, RAAM’s Shadow will involve crushing some puny humans and probably the usual Gears of War over-the-top, blood-thirsty combat… Sounds good!
Today as supposed to mark the arrival of the first batch of Downloadable Content for Gears of War 3. Horde Command was supposed to be out today and would contain three new maps, four upgrades for your fortifications, three new character skins and a pair of weapon skins. Continue reading
If you read much MMGaming at all you might have read my dairy of mine and Ali’s playthrough of Gears of War 3. If you haven’t but would like to you I will put the links to the various days at the bottom of this post. If you have read them then this actual review of Gears of War 3 contains a lot of the sentiments and thoughts that I mentioned in the diaries. I’ll try and avoid repeating myself too much, but it is going to happen. Consider yourself warned.
Of course I will also be talking about the other aspects of Gears of War 3 after I have talked about the campaign, so you might want to skip down to that!
Yes dear friends! Yesterday evening finally finished Gears of War 3! We were apparently closer to the end than I had previously thought because it didn’t take us much more than an hour (maybe an hour and a half) to finish off the campaign to Gears of War 3 while playing Hardcore difficulty. Again, I would like to point out right now that this article may well contain spoilers (I’m not sure what sort yet) so read on at your own peril!
A previously unheard of (by me anyway) Youtube channel/group has come out with a short Gears of War video using Lego figures and stop action. It is unquestionably one of the coolest and most impressive things I have ever seen done with Lego (and it’s definitely in the top most-awesome-things-done-ever of all time as well for that matter!). I won’t say more just trust me and check the video here after the jump!
So we are now approaching the end of Gears of War 3. And what a slow and ponderous journey it has been. Slow and ponderous progress anyway, as we have only been managing to play our way through the game in small chunks. Anyway we’re now on the 26th Chapter overall and so have about 5 to go before what I hope will be a very satisfying and climatic finish.
Again, as we are now so far into the story I can’t really talk much about what we have been doing without some spoilers. I’ll try not mention anything particularly story related (or at least nothing that is important or is something you aren’t meant to know until the end) but I will mention some things that occur later in the game. So, like in the last diary entry, if small spoilers about unimportant events in the game don’t bother you, then read on! But if you want everything to be a surprise then you should probably try and read something else we have here!
This one is a bit shorter than any previous diary entries as me and Ali only managed to get about an hour of play time last night. We are now on the 21st chapter of 31 and so are essentially two thirds of the way through Gears 3. I assume that if we don’t get it finished in our next session we definitely will in the session after that!
I would like to point out here that this diary DOES contain a few mild spoilers, so if you don’t want to ruin anything for yourself then don’t click the read more button. On the other hand if something only semi plot-related doesn’t bother you then read on!
