Bioshock Infinite – Life amongst the clouds is troublesome

Posted by Seb May-Wilson

2K Games and Infinity Ward have spent the last month or so slowly revealing some of the tougher fights you can expect in Bioshock Infinite. Whilst admiring the view and killing the ordinary splicers (are they still splicers?) you will occasionally come across some people that will just put a crimp in your day. You know the sort, folk who just can't mind their own damn business while you try to save the world. The sort of grumpy bastards that clearly woke up on the wrong side of the bed and then proceeded to fall into a massive pile of armour and massive weapons...

And magic... Let's not forget the magic...

Closed Beta Reminiscence – Guild Wars 2

Posted by Nick Axmaker

This is Monday (at least where I'm from here in the Eastern United States) and that means the beginning of a new week and for me, the beginning of a new school quarter. But this particular Monday is also important because it saw the ending of the first of the big closed beta events for Guild Wars 2. Most of you probably weren't in it, not that you should tell us if you were, and so I've compiled the information from the press sites that have been posting about it.

Keep in mind that a NDA surrounds this last beta event, so please keep that in mind when posting any comments! Read on, my friends!

Retake Mass Effect protest “Victorious”

Posted by Seb May-Wilson

Many of you will be aware of the massive outcry by fans about the ending of Mass Effect 3. Again, I still haven't played the game so I won't be looking into details about the ending (so once again NO spoilers here), but I did try to keep up with what's been going on without exposing myself to specific details about the game.

A major thing is that fans of the game have actually been joining and supporting a cause called "Retake Mass Effect 3". The aim of the cause was to raise money simply to show Bioware the extent of the fan's disappointment with the ending. The aim was to raise $80,000 just to prove to the developers of the game that people were disappointed and willing to take action about the ending. The money however, wouldn't be used for campaigning and it isn't really enough to change the whole ending to the game so it is going to be donated to the gaming charity Child's Play.

Bioshock Movie – On Hold Again

Posted by Seb May-Wilson

Bugger... Another hold up...

Since it's announcement in 2008 the film version of 2K Game's Bioshock has been slowly dragging it's way forward. It seems that every time an advance is made in the project it, just as quickly, reverts back into it's state of non-existence.

Oil Rush: Reviewed!

Posted by Josh Rodriguez

Oil Rush has been out for a bit, so it's high time we hauled in our over-sized magnifying glasses, opened up our dog-eared writing tablets, and scrutinized it properly. The game is an interesting blend of concepts, sure enough, with mechanical bits and narrative bobbins taken from all over the place. However, interesting doesn't, necessarily, mean fun. Let's see how well those concepts fair in actual execution, shall we?

PS3′s Birthday

Posted by Seb May-Wilson

Today marks the 5th Birthday of the PS3 in Europe.

I've always had a rocky relationship with the PS3. I never got it at it's release, no saw any need to. As far as I was concerned the Xbox 360 was superior and the PS3 simply way too expensive. This poor relationship continued (even after I realised that the PS3's technical specs were better than the 360's in every way) due to the initial lack of games which made use of the PS3's excellent Blu-Ray technology.
